This came to mind in the wake of the Covenant School shootings in Nashville, a site about a mile from the apartment Sharon and I occupied during our first years of marriage, when I was a grad student at Vanderbilt. In this piece, I draw on an experience I had last Christmas, using it to introduce the role of Satan to the equation.
