James Dobson: Lighting the Seventies and Beyond

This week, James Dobson died at 89, and tributes poured in deservedly from everywhere. Paul Kengor, editor of American Spectator, contacted several of us to see if we might write a quick memorial piece, and I was the one perfectly situated to do one on the spot (freshly primed with coffee at Starbuck's and able to set aside other work). It was a labor of love that was posted that same night. I was indebted to Dr. Dobson, and it was a pleasure to trace his contribution to my own life and to our culture.
